Epiphone Jeff Waters Annihilation-V Electric Guitar Annihilator RedToday’s featured guitar is the Epiphone Jeff Waters Annihilation-V Electric Guitar Annihilator Red. Below is the complete description of the guitar.

Epiphone has a long history of supplying some of the greatest guitarists of all time with the electric guitar they need to excel. That history continues with the Annihilation-V, a Flying V guitar made in cooperation with acclaimed guitarist, Jeff Waters. Prestigiously ranked at #3 in Joel McIver’s 2009 book The 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists,

Jeff and his band Annihilator have been shredding audiences worldwide for years, and now he’s ready to take it up a notch with what he calls “The Ultimate Metal Guitar!”

Like any exceptional electric guitar, the Epiphone Annihilation-V starts with great tonewoods and construction. The neck is solid mahogany joined to a solid mahogany body using a traditional deep-set, Flying-V neck joint that’s hand-fitted and glued in place for optimum tone and sustain. For lightning-fast performance, the Epiphone guitar’s neck features a “D” profile SlimTaper neck and a 24-fret phenolic (ebonol) fingerboard that not only allows a full 2 octaves of range per string, but also an ultra-smooth and extremely durable surface.

At the heart of any great guitar are great pickups and this Epiphone Flying V guitar is no exception. Designed specifically for Jeff by Epiphone engineers, and made by Gibson USA’s world-famous pickup division, the Epiphone Annihilation-V features custom JWT (Jeff Waters Treble) and JWR (Jeff Waters Rhythm) 4-wire humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions, respectively. Overwound and featuring a Ceramic-8 magnet, the Epiphone Annihilation-V’s JWT bridge humbucker can deliver the right combination of crunch and growl without ever losing it’s enhanced lows and crystal clear highs. The JWR neck pickup features an Alnico-II magnet that provides vintage tone with great sustain and clarity along with the right combination of power and warmth. Together, the two pickups offer the perfect combination of crunch and clean. Controlling the 2 perfectly matched humbuckers is a set of simple yet powerful controls that offer incredible versatility. The Epiphone Annihilation-V guitar’s master volume control is also a push/pull control allowing you to split the coils of the 2 humbuckers for a brighter, single-coil sound while keeping them noise-free. The 3-way toggle in combination with the coil-splitting allows you up to 8 different tonal combinations ranging from a one single-coil to full-on humbucker assault. A momentary kill button cuts off the output for additional effects.

Other upgrades to the Epiphone Jeff Waters Annihilation-V electric guitar include Grover 14:1 ratio tuners, Epiphone StrapLocks, Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic/stopbar combination, “Annihilator Devil” inlay on the 12th fret, and Jeff Water’s signature on the back of the guitar headstock.

Epiphone Limited Edition ES-355 Electric Guitar EbonyToday’s featured guitar is the Epiphone Limited Edition ES-355 Electric Guitar Ebony. Below is the complete description of the guitar.

Introduced in 1958, the Gibson ES-355 was the deluxe version of the ES-335, boasting gold hardware, multi-ply body and neck binding, as well as an ebony fretboard with mother-of-pearl neck and headstock inlays. Like that original model, this Epi version also comes with a Bigsby tailpiece. It’s powered by 2 Alnico Classic humbuckers with Alnico V magnets, patterned after the original Gibson ’57 Classics. Premium features include a SlimTaper ’60s D-profile neck, Grover 14:1 tuners, and LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge.

Epiphone brings back what many guitarists think of as the ultimate players axe, the ES-355. The ES-355 is one of the most iconic guitar designs in rock and Epiphone has brought it back in all its glory with the Limited Edition 355 in three beautiful finishes; Alpine White, Ebony, and classic Cherry.

The ES-355 Story: When it was first introduced in 1958, the ES-355 style was the worlds first thinline archtop semi-electric guitar, a bold new design that combined the cutting, bell-like sustain of a solid body with the darker, complex tones of an archtop. The ES-355 also incorporated the humbucker pickup, a relatively new design that would also be quickly embraced by both rock and blues players. Many think of the ES-355 as one of the best electrics ever made and its found in the collection of all discriminating guitarists including B.B. King, Keith Richards, Jorma Kaukonen, Chuck Berry, and Noel Gallagher. Now with the Ltd. ES-355 you can have one in your collection, too.

Groundbreaking Design: The Ltd. Edition ES-355s unique tonal range was the result of its groundbreaking design. A wood block runs through the center of the body so the pickups are mounted much the same way as in a solid body guitar allowing for two hollow chambered areas over the violin style f -holes and in the double cutaway wings.

Classic Vintage Styling and Unique Features: The Ltd Edition ES-355 body is constructed of 5-layer laminated Maple and is available in three beautiful finishes: Alpine White, Ebony, and classic Cherry. The solid Mahogany 24.75 SlimTaper 1960s D profile neck features an Ebony fingerboard with a 12 radius and a 1.68 nut width. The neck has classic Mother-of-Pearl Block inlays and a vintage style Mother-of-Pearl Split Diamond headstock design. To top off the vintage styling, Epiphone included a Tortoise style pickguard with multi-binding. Tuning stability is assured with gold Grover 14:1 ratio machine heads, a gold Epiphone LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge and a gold Bigsby Tremolo. The volume and tone knobs, one for each pickup, are Black Speed with pointers for easy reference while on stage.

Premium Electronics: No detail of the original ES-355 has been missed. The Ltd Edition ES-355 incorporates Alnico Classic humbuckers in the neck and bridge position. Patterned after the original Gibson ’57 Classics, the Alnico Classic pickups use Alnico-V magnets with enamel wire to gi

Epiphone Worn 1966 Wilshire with Tremotone Electric Guitar Worn BlackToday’s featured guitar is the Epiphone Worn 1966 Wilshire with Tremotone Electric Guitar Worn Black. Below is the complete description of the guitar.

Like an SG guitar, the Wilshire’s double-cutaway mahogany body with a glued-in mahogany neck that joins the body at the 22nd fret gives you ultimate upper fret access. Lightweight and comfortable, the Wilshire has excellent resonance and natural acoustic tone – even unplugged! Featuring Epiphone’s LockTone Tune-o-matic/stopbar combination, the transfer of string vibration is improved even more giving this guitar excellent sustain and clarity. But here’s what separates the Wilshire from the SG. Most early Epiphone guitars including the Wilshire were equipped with mini-humbucking pickups and Epiphone carries on this tradition. With its smaller size, narrow magnetic field and unique design combination, the mini-humbucker produces bright and focused output while retaining famous humbucker “hum-free” performance. A replica of the originals, they feature adjustable pole pieces, enamel wire, bar ceramic magnets and rounded nickel plated covers set in an original style black mounting ring with height adjustment screws.

n 1957 Gibson purchased New York’s Epiphone Guitar Company and moved production to Kalamazoo, Michigan. With plans to expand retail distribution by differentiating Epiphone dealers from Gibson dealers, Gibson began production of a new line of “Kalamazoo-made and designed” Epiphones in 1959. For over a decade, Epiphone solid body guitars and basses were produced right alongside Gibsons. These Epiphone guitars represented some of the highest quality and best sounding instruments of their generation. They provided unique shapes, pickup arrangements, and tonal signatures not seen on comparable Gibson models of the day. Under appreciated at the time of their release, numerous artists through the years have recognized the unique appeal of these guitars. Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter, Paul Gilbert and Steve Marriot are but a few of the artists that have embraced the tone and build quality of these Kalamazoo built Epiphones. One such Epiphone instrument was the Wilshire.

Now with IMPROVED Tremotone!
There’s been a lot of tremolos developed over the years but few as unique and distinctive as Epiphone Tremotone with it’s Rosewood insert and metal “E” insignia. Introduced in 1961, it was optional equipment on many classic Epiphone models. Epiphone engineers have taken that same, great design and improved it with a spring-loaded return system that allows for ultra-smooth operation and excellent return-to-pitch characteristics.

Cool Retro-Looks!
Also unique, the Wilshire features Epiphone’s own “batwing” headstock. A classic design that improves tuning ease and accuracy by offering a straight string-pull design, the headstock is adorned like the original with the vintage “Epiphone” logo in gold. Other features include a 1960′s SlimTaper (TM) neck profile with Rosewood fingerboard, premium 14:1 die-cast tuners and individual Volume and Tone controls for each pickup. And to gi

Epiphone Tribute Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar Trans Black 1960s Neck

Oct
10

Epiphone Tribute Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar Trans Black 1960s NeckToday’s featured guitar is the Epiphone Tribute Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar Trans Black 1960s Neck. Below is the complete description of the guitar.

The Epiphone Tribute Les Paul Standard Tribute honors Epiphone’s history and association with Les Paul that dates back to the days when Les—working at the Epiphone factory on 14th St. in New York—created the world’s first solidbody electric guitar. Over the years, Les continued to work closely with Epiphone by reviewing new product ideas and offering suggestions. The Epiphone “Tribute” Les Paul Standard honors that relationship by combining “as good as it gets” performance and features with venerable Epiphone quality and value.

Solid woods, set-neck construction
At the heart of the Les Paul Tribute is construction that features a solid mahogany back with a solid, carved hard maple cap to create the ultimate combination of warmth and bite. Everyone knows that set-neck guitars provide the best rock tone and sustain and the Tributes Les Paul takes that to the next level featuring the original “deep set” neck joint. The solid mahogany neck with hand-fitted, glued-in joint extends well into the neck pickup cavity creating maximum neck-to-body contact and acting almost like one continuous piece of wood. Combined with the mahogany/maple body, the result is a tribute to Les’ timeless guitar design with the sound that you can only get from a Les Paul.

Your choice of neck profiles
Depending upon your taste, you have the choice of either a traditional “1960s” SlimTaper™ neck profile or an Asymmetrical neck profile. The “1960′s” SlimTaper is a comfortable “D” shaped neck that was used and made famous on many 1960s era, Kalamazoo-made guitars from Gibson and Epiphone. The newer Asymmetrical neck has multiple radiuses and combines a more rounded “D” shape on the bass side of the neck with a flatter “C” shape on the treble side. This leads to a very comfortable neck that more ergonomically contours to fit the hand of most players. Both profiles are available on the Tribute and the choice is yours!

Vintage humbucker sound
Quality construction, premium woods and neck profile choices are only part of the equation. Capturing all the power and nuances of the “Tribute” is a pair of authentic Gibson USA ’57 Classic humbucking pickups. With its “Patent Applied For” decal on the base plate, the ’57 Classic and ’57 Classic Plus are faithful replicas of the famous Gibson humbuckers that helped define the music of the late 1950s. The ’57 Classic gives you a tone that is warm and subtle with full, even response that doesn’t hold back when you need that storied Gibson humbucker crunch! The ’57 Classic Plus is the perfect bridge pickup and mimics humbuckers of that era that received a few extra turns of wire. This treatment gives the pickup slightly higher output without sacrificing its rich, vintage tone. In combination, this pair of humbuckers overdrives tube preamps to a smooth level of saturation without becoming overpowering. Both ’57s feature Gi
